 Here are a couple of 30 minute Life drawing speed paints. I seem to be a lot faster using Painter and a Wacom tablet than I am with traditional media. Probably because I use digital media at least 80% of the time.

 I have been coordinating the short pose life drawing sessions for the Austin Visual Arts Association for over 4 years now. Each session starts with 40 minutes of 1 minute gestures to warmup and I have gotten pretty fast as a result. Here are a few a few pages of gestures from those sessions created in Painter with my Wacom and laptop.

Elvgren Master Copy studies

 I have been doing master copies of the great Gil Elvgren to improve my painting skills. Here are two such master copies. I learn a lot by following in the footsteps of my favorite artists of the past and I plan to apply what I learn through these studies to my original paintings in the future.

Life Drawing 09.19.09: 30 mn Portrait Painting

 Last night I had a good time in life drawing. I painted this portrait in 30 minutes with Painter and an Intuis tablet. I have decided to paint at least a hundred portraits in life drawing like this or better, I will post them as they are created.
